Gut Wehlitz and the city of Schkeuditz are located northwest of Leipzig. The infrastructure of the region is well developed, a fine-meshed network of suburban railway, tram and bus lines connects the region. Three stations are important for public transport connections to Gut Wehlitz: The bus stop Wehlitz, Gasthof is directly next to Gut Wehlitz. All buses take you to Rathausplatz Schkeuditz. From there, tram line 11 runs directly to Leipzig city centre. The S-Bahn network can also be used for fast connections to Leipzig and the region. From Schkeuditz-West you can reach Leipzig city centre in just 12 minutes. All lines are part of the Transportation Network called MDV. It provides uniform tickets and one pricing system.

Since December 2013, the railway network "S-Bahn Mitteldeutschland" has been connecting the city of Leipzig and the region. In the meantime, ten lines have been operating over a distance of 800 km. Almost 100,000 passengers use the green-silver trains every day. In terms of route length, it is the longest S-Bahn network in Germany.
The Leipzig tram network is the second largest in Germany, the connection to Schkeuditz has existed since 1910. With a length of more than 22 km, the line 11 from and to Schkeuditz is the longest tram line of the Leipzig network, connecting three cities with each other: Schkeuditz, Leipzig and Markkleeberg.
There are numerous bus lines to connect areas outside the S-Bahn and tram networks. The 191 and 724 buses pass directly by Gut Wehlitz. The line 191 is a ring bus line in Schkeuditz, the 724 is a so-called PlusBus line that runs at fixed intervals throughout the week and independent of school holidays.
